Our Approach is Guided by You
Many people who have been charged with a crime simply want their case to be resolved quickly while still protecting their rights. Other people charged with a crime want an attorney who will provide an aggressive defense on their behalf which may include multiple motions, extensive negotiations and, if necessary, trial before a judge or jury. Our efforts at exploring alternative sentences, wherever appropriate, to address underlying issues (like alcohol or substance abuse) that may have caused someone to become involved in criminal activity, has allowed us to keep many of our clients from serving jail time or dealing with extended probation. Community service may also be an option for some clients.
Whether you want an attorney who will seek the best possible plea bargain or an attorney who will defend your rights aggressively at trial, our firm can help. We take pride in our personal approach to representing our clients.
Experienced Trial Lawyer
If your case does require trial, the attorney you choose is absolutely vital. You want an attorney with the dedication and trial experience necessary to argue effectively on your behalf. Mr. Milstein is an experienced trial lawyer with nearly 25 years of criminal defense experience in local criminal courts, state courts and federal courts. He has a proven record of results - in and out of the courtroom.
All Criminal Charges
Some criminal defense lawyers shy away from difficult or controversial cases. As a lawyer who believes strongly that all defendants are innocent until proven guilty, attorney James P. Milstein vigorously defends clients charged with all misdemeanor and felony charges, including petit larceny (theft), drug charges, DWI, aggravated unlicensed operation, traffic violations, white-collar crimes, sex crimes, assault, property crimes, weapons violations, probation and parole violations and violent crimes. We also help clients facing federal criminal charges like those dealing with immigration or unlawful entry into the country.
